During a two-day visit to Toledo last Thursday and Friday, April 12-13, Minister of National Emergency Management Hon Edmond Castro met with officials from Humana People to People Belize (HPPB) which is executing a number of projects in 11 villages throughout that district in partnership with the Government of Belize and various local organizations and groups. The projects are for Improved Physical Infrastructure & Early Warning Systems for Reduced Risk to Natural Hazards; Improved Agricultural Farming Systems Resilient to Climate Change; Disaster Risk Reduction & Climate Change Public Education & Awareness & Emergency Response; and Project Management & Administration (with gender equity). The Minister’s tour started off with a quick briefing in Punta Gorda.
