Over 400 villagers of Aguacate, Toledo District now have continuous supply of safe water to meet their daily needs such as drinking, washing, bathing and cooking. The Aguacate Rehabilitation and Extension Water System was financed by the Government of Belize at a cost of BZ$323,633.73 through a loan from the Caribbean Development Bank, and implemented by the Belize Social Investment Fund.
Equally important, the completion of the water supply sub-project will also contribute significantly to the reduction of water, food, vector, and communicable diseases in Aguacate. The Government of Belize in this context, is making critical achievements in improving the wellness, and quality of health of villagers of Aguacate, surrounding communities and by extension, the country of Belize.
